Groupe Rocher has renewed its contract with proLogistik for the Logistar warehouse management system for a further five years, extending a relationship the cosmetics group says has run for 17 years. The renewal, announced on 8 October, covers the La Villouët platform in La Gacilly, Brittany — a few hundred metres from the Morbihan plant where Yves Rocher began making cosmetics in the late 1950s.
The site runs some 4,800 product references across about 21,000 pallet locations and employs roughly 200 people, according to trade coverage of the announcement. It prepares and ships around 180,000 pallets a year — close to 280 million units — supplying the group’s French store network and local warehouses that distribute to more than 90 countries.
AI features on the roadmap
proLogistik, founded in Germany in 1996 and present across 18 sites, brought Logistar’s original developer DSIA into its group; the renewed scope is set to add AI-based capabilities progressively, building on the agentic-AI picking features the vendor introduced earlier in the year.
Vincent Taglioni, chief operations officer at Groupe Rocher, said the group’s logistics needs to rely on a robust, scalable WMS able to adapt to its flows, its organisation and the way its teams work, framing the deal as a new stage in that effort (remarks translated from French). Frédéric Serre, managing director of proLogistik France, described the two as businesses from France’s Grand Ouest moving forward together.
