ID Logistics has opened three new logistics sites in Germany in recent months, lifting its warehouse footprint in the country to around 910,000 sqm across 17 sites, the French contract logistics provider said in an announcement dated 15 October 2026. Present in Germany since 2013, the company said its German operations now offer roughly 800,000 pallet positions and employ some 4,800 people, serving retail, consumer goods, e-commerce and cosmetics customers.
Alsdorf hub geared to e-commerce parcels
Near Aachen, ID Logistics has taken a 72,800 sqm warehouse leased from Logicor to run warehousing and distribution for what both companies described as a global online retailer, which they did not name. According to Logicor, the Alsdorf site is ramping up gradually from the third quarter of 2026, with full operations expected in the second quarter of 2027, and is designed to handle up to 50,000 parcels a day at peak. The operator expects to create around 300 jobs there.
Bulky-goods centre near Hanover
A second site, a 35,000 sqm facility spread across three buildings at Mittelweserpark in Lower Saxony, opened in September 2026 for heavy and bulky items weighing up to 180 kg, covering around 7,000 product references such as furniture and appliances. ID Logistics said order-to-dispatch times run up to two hours, with cross-docking flows handled within a maximum of four hours, and that the operation uses 40 pieces of equipment, several of them purpose-built. Headcount there is expected to reach up to 150. The company said the opening takes its heavy and bulky logistics space in Germany past 100,000 sqm, building on a reference site of about 60,000 sqm it has run in Goettingen since 2018.
A third recent opening, a roughly 33,000 sqm temperature-controlled centre built for dairy group Lactalis at Steinau in Hesse, adds cold-chain capacity to the network. ID Logistics Germany managing director Robin Otto said the group’s German growth rests on its ability to combine different areas of expertise, while the company reported strong demand, particularly for cross-docking activities.
