Transport and logistics provider Dupessey&Co has managed a record-speed launch for cleaning products specialist Solenis Diversey on 8,000 square meters at its site in Illzach, near Mulhouse in eastern France. Involving real estate reconfiguration, an IT component with the deployment of Hardis’ Reflex WMS, and the recruitment and training of around 40 employees, the project was completed in just five months.
From Swiss production site to French 3PL
The project was initiated by Solenis Diversey to outsource logistics previously handled at one of its production sites in northern Switzerland. Recall that US-based Solenis acquired fellow American company Diversey in mid-2023. The tender was won by Dupessey&Co in the fall of 2024.
Specializing notably in the transport and storage of hazardous goods, with 800 vehicle registrations and over 100,000 square meters across a dozen sites in France and southern Europe, the Savoie-based provider leveraged its large Alsatian facility, owned since acquiring Mulhouse-based peer Tym a decade ago.
A three-pronged project approach
A cross-functional project management structure was established to align technical decisions, operational constraints, and scheduling imperatives, with three major phases:
- Facility reconfiguration: replacement of flooring, roof repairs, and installation of new racking — all planned to avoid any disruption to ongoing operations.
- WMS deployment: Hardis’ Reflex system was implemented on a tight schedule, covering process configuration, EDI integration with partners, and user testing and training, with the goal of ensuring reliability and traceability from the first pallets received in March 2025.
- Team building: assembling the operational team for an immediate and secure ramp-up based on a target volume of 1.3 million products per year.
