GXO Logistics has renewed its contract to run frozen-food logistics for Carrefour in Belgium and Luxembourg, extending a relationship that is closing in on half a century. The 3PL will keep handling storage, order preparation and delivery for the grocer’s deep-freeze range from its site near Brussels.
The Contract
GXO has worked with Carrefour in Belgium for nearly 50 years. Under the renewal it continues to supply more than 700 Carrefour stores across Belgium and Luxembourg, drawing on a fleet of 40 trucks. Tanguy t’Serstevens, supply chain director at Carrefour Belgium, pointed to the site’s location, GXO’s expertise and its vehicle fleet as the reasons it remains a reliable partner for an efficient, sustainable service.
Inside the Site
The work runs out of Zellik, on the edge of Brussels. The warehouse spans 43,720 sqm with a 23,000 sqm mezzanine and is automated, equipped with stacker cranes and a shuttle-based storage and order-picking system. For frozen goods, where temperature control and throughput both matter, that automation is what lets a single hub serve a dense store network.

Long-running grocery contracts rarely make headlines, yet they are the backbone of retail logistics.
