Debrecen, Hungary — Hungarian distributor Mixvill has commissioned intralogistics supplier Jungheinrich to equip and automate the new logistics centre it is building on a greenfield site in Debrecen, in the east of the country, the two companies said. Mixvill, which sells electrical and construction-related products at wholesale and retail, says its current warehouse has reached its capacity limits; the new building is meant to bring operations onto a single site, standardise processes and leave room for growth. The companies describe the project as the outcome of more than a year of joint planning.

An automated miniload at the core

At the centre of the facility is an automated miniload warehouse with more than 60,000 container locations. According to Jungheinrich, it covers around 1,500 m² across four aisles, stands 14.5 m high and is served by one stacker crane per aisle, operating five days a week in two shifts. A container conveyor system connects goods-in and goods-out stations with a dedicated workstation for B2C orders, while Jungheinrich’s warehouse management system (WMS) manages stock and orders alongside the supplier’s control and visualisation technology.

Trucks and racking from one supplier

Beyond the automated zone, Jungheinrich is fitting the manual area with narrow-aisle, pallet and cantilever racking for long goods, along with its own trucks: two EKX 516 narrow-aisle trucks, two ETV 316i reach trucks, one ETV Q25 multidirectional reach truck rated for loads up to 8 m long, and five ERE 120i pallet trucks linking the zones.

“Jungheinrich delivers all of it from a single source,” said István Besenyei, CEO of Mixvill. Benjamin Bahram, Project Manager International Sales at Jungheinrich, said the setup means “Mixvill gains a logistics platform that serves its wholesale and end-customer business equally well.”
