French short-circuit e-fishmonger Poiscaille has traded manual route planning for Woop’s Mapo software, and the reach of the rollout keeps growing.
From Spreadsheets to Algorithms
Founded in 2014, Poiscaille delivers to customers through a network of 2,000 partner merchants spread across France. Its original round-planning process was entirely manual, and it hit a ceiling. Woop’s Mapo platform now centralises those operations, tracks them in real time and leans on algorithms to firm up the schedule.
Numbers Behind the Rollout
Mapo currently optimises deliveries to 800 of Poiscaille’s partners, three times the number of rounds the two companies handled when they started working together at the end of 2022. The e-fishmonger ships 15,000 orders a week and reports on-time delivery of 99.98%.
“We steer our rounds in real time, handle the unexpected faster and automatically keep our subscription customers informed,” said founder Charles Guirriec, framing the reliability gains as the base for further investment.
Why It Matters
Fresh seafood leaves no room for a missed slot. For food e-commerce built on short supply chains, route-optimisation software has moved from nice-to-have to the thing that decides whether the model scales past a few hundred delivery points. Poiscaille’s plan to keep widening Mapo across the remaining 1,200 partner sites will test how much of that reliability holds at full network size.
