Haropa Port expects record container traffic in 2026 after a strong first half. The Seine-axis authority, which groups the ports of Le Havre, Rouen and Paris, handled 1.6 million TEU over the period, up 9% by volume and 8% by tonnage. Total maritime traffic reached 42 million metric tons, a rise of 5.7%.
Broad-Based Growth
Container tonnage came in at 15.9 million metric tons for the half. Liquid bulk rose 2% to 18.6 million metric tons. Solid bulk climbed 11% to 6.4 million metric tons. The spread of gains across categories, not just containers, is what gives the authority its confidence for the full year.
Geopolitics Kept at Arm’s Length
Managing director Benoit Rochet said the war in Ukraine and the disruption around the Strait of Hormuz had produced no significant direct effect on the port’s flows. That relative insulation matters for an establishment sitting on one of Europe’s busier maritime corridors.
If the second half tracks the first, 2026 closes as Haropa Port’s strongest container year yet. The autumn figures will show whether the momentum holds.
