Ceva Logistics has extended its work for Zalando through 2030, renewing several contracts for Europe’s online fashion heavyweight in the Netherlands, Germany and Poland. The 3PL arm of CMA CGM announced the extension in mid-July.
Fulfilment, Inbound and Returns
The renewed sites play different roles inside Zalando’s network. Some handle fulfilment, meaning storage and order picking. Others manage inbound flows, receiving goods before they are dispatched to the main warehouses. A third type handles returns. Ceva named the 140,000 sqm Rotterdam fulfilment centre, opened five years ago, alongside the inbound site at Großbeeren south of Berlin and a returns operation in Poland now extended to 2030.
A Partnership Rooted in 2009
The relationship goes back to 2009, a year after Zalando launched, though the work was first run by Ingram Micro’s Commerce & Lifecycle Services. Ceva absorbed that business at the end of 2021, inheriting the Zalando sites in the process.
Not every inherited site survived. A Swiss returns centre opened in 2018 shut in 2024 with several hundred jobs lost, and operations at the Swedish Brunna fulfilment site went to Nordic 3PL PostNord TPL last year. Zalando keeps reshaping its footprint, closing its historic Erfurt site while ramping up the XXL platform at Montereau in France.
