Ceva Logistics has secured a five-year extension of its contract with GSK, keeping the operator in charge of the British drugmaker’s distribution centre in Robakowo, near Poznań. The site has run under Ceva since 2012 and feeds medicines and vaccines to 13 markets across Central and Northern Europe.
Operational Details
Robakowo covers roughly 9,800 sqm and ships more than 51,000 orders a month. It holds 12,000 pallet positions and pairs a repackaging zone with refrigerated and temperature-controlled storage at 2–8°C and 15–25°C. ISO 9001:2015 applies on site, along with the GDP and GMP standards that govern pharmaceutical handling. Automation has built up over the years: automated label printing and scanning, plus cobots that take on re-palletisation and pick-and-place tasks.
A Wider GSK Footprint
Robakowo is one of four sites Ceva operates for GSK in Europe. The others sit in France, Italy and Spain. Together the quartet moves around 32 million pharmaceutical products a month into 39 countries. A renewal here, then, reaches well past a single building.
Market Context
Pharma logistics rewards operators who can prove cold-chain discipline and regulatory compliance. Tenure counts too. Fourteen years on the same GSK account hands Ceva a track record few rivals can point to, at a moment when pharmaceutical shippers keep tightening and consolidating their European distribution networks.
Whether that consolidation keeps favouring incumbents or cracks the door open for fresh bids is the question the next contract cycle will settle.
