To densify storage capacity and gain productivity and reliability, distributor Goya Europa, specialist in Latin American food products (canned goods, beans, confectionery, beverages, and snacks), has equipped its Casarrubios del Monte warehouse—between Madrid and Toledo—with a semi-automated Mecalux Pallet Shuttle storage system.
Approximately 3,000 pallets are stored on 5 racks of 8 meters high, with a depth of 33 pallets. Shuttles are inserted into the racking using a forklift. Goya Europa, a subsidiary of American company Goya Foods, manages about 2,300 SKUs (90% sold under private label) and distributes products to 4,000 points of sale in Spain.
