French company Plaxtil—established in 2019—has developed a patented textile recycling process that transforms fabrics into a material with characteristics comparable to recycled plastics, with applications in retail furniture, office supplies, toys, and other finished products.

The startup’s 15 employees work exclusively with materials consisting of at least 95% cotton or polyester. “Our new €6M fundraising allows us to accelerate development across France and Europe while strengthening R&D to process an ever wider variety of textiles,” explains Olivier Civil, co-founder and CEO. The funds from A Plus Finance and Bpifrance support expanding recycling capacities, strengthening commercial development, and diversifying sourced materials.
