Express carrier DHL has renewed its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supply contract with Air France KLM for another three years. After a first tranche in 2022 and a new agreement covering 2025 to 2027, this third contract extends collaboration from 2028 to 2030.
In exchange for its contribution, DHL Express obtains Scope 3 emission reductions on its air transport operations as well as a dedicated insetting certificate.
“This renewed partnership with DHL is a key milestone in our SAF strategy. It demonstrates our ability to offer innovative and responsible solutions to reduce air transport’s environmental impact,” states Bénédicte Duval, SVP Sustainability Operations at Air France KLM.
SAF adoption is accelerating across the logistics industry as shippers increasingly require carbon reduction commitments from their transport providers. For land-based alternatives, FM Logistic’s intermodal expansion between France and Poland offers another decarbonization pathway.
