Pro à Pro, the foodservice distribution arm of Germany’s METRO group, has opened a tri-temperature distribution centre of around 18,300 square metres at Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne in western France. The company said the new site replaces a nearby 3,500-square-metre two-temperature warehouse and is held on a 12-year lease. It was developed by French logistics developer Axtom.

What the site handles

The centre runs dry, chilled and frozen zones, according to Pro à Pro. It supplies around 5,500 foodservice (RHF) professionals across 16 départements of western France, carries more than 5,000 product references and handles 11,000 to 12,000 order lines a day, the distributor said. Pro à Pro operates 18 warehouses to serve mainland France and five overseas départements.

Part of a wider network push

Pro à Pro said the Mayenne facility is the first in a planned series of tri-temperature depots, with a further site south of Paris slated for early 2028. Antoine Fabry, the company’s chief executive, described the transformation of its supply chain as central to the group’s strategic plan, while Reynald Da Costa, commercial director for western France, called the Mayenne site the spearhead of its regional logistics network.
