Würth Australia, the local arm of German industrial-supplies group Würth, has selected automation integrator Dematic to install AutoStore goods-to-person systems at two of its distribution centres, Dematic said in a September 2026 announcement. The sites are in Yatala, Queensland, in greater Brisbane, and Keysborough, Victoria, in greater Melbourne. According to Dematic, the Yatala facility is scheduled to go live in August 2027 and the Keysborough site in December 2027.
What Dematic will install
At each centre, the AutoStore goods-to-person grid will be paired with automated conveyor transport and manual picking zones for bulky or non-conveyable items, the company said. Dematic said the installation will run on its Warehouse Control System (WCS), interfaced with Würth’s existing warehouse management system. “Würth’s extensive product range means there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to fulfilment,” said Terry Jamieson, business development manager at Dematic.
Why Würth is automating
Würth Australia distributes more than 22,000 products to over 56,000 active customers across sectors that include automotive, transport, construction, fabrication, mining and maintenance, repair and operations, according to Dematic. The company said the automation is meant to speed order fulfilment and cut reliance on manual processes. “The customer experience is incredibly important to us here at Würth, and a big part of that is ensuring our customers receive accurate and complete orders when they expect them,” said Serge Oppedisano, chief executive and senior vice-president of Würth Group Oceania.
Dematic did not disclose the number of AutoStore bins or robots, or the floor area of either facility.
