Belgian parts distributor TVH has inaugurated a new 18,000 sqm distribution centre at its Waregem headquarters, about 60 km from Brussels, after more than a year of construction. The €85M project backs the growth of a specialist in parts for forklifts, industrial vehicles and large agricultural tractors, as the group rolls out an international upgrade of its logistics network.
Inside the Building
Counting its multiple levels, up to four in places, the structure develops 54,000 sqm and rises to 30 metres across 4,500 sqm of high-bay storage. That section houses an automated storage and retrieval system, or ASRS, whose supplier has not been disclosed. A 600-metre walkway links the new centre to an existing warehouse. The extension adds capacity for more than 3,000 order lines a day at TVH’s original site.
Throughput and Reach
The site has 17 loading and unloading docks and already runs conveyors, lifts and AMRs. It can take up to 60 trucks a day, receive more than 200,000 parts daily and ship to 180 countries. In Belgium alone, TVH’s logistics footprint now reaches 215,000 sqm. The company, founded in 1969, is targeting BREEAM Outstanding certification.
Tanja Dysli, the group’s operations director, said the extra capacity will cut processing times and improve delivery to customers and branches worldwide. Next comes the ramp-up, and the test of whether the automated core delivers the throughput on paper.
