Spanish transport and logistics provider Carreras has inaugurated its new 14,500 square meter logistics platform in Valladolid, in northwestern Spain. Designed for the food industry, it features around twenty dock doors and zones at ambient temperature, controlled temperature (14-18°C), and refrigerated (2-6°C). Certified Breeam Excellent, it will eventually employ 70 to 80 staff.
Strategic Location
“We invested in Valladolid because we consider this city a strategic location, particularly for serving the entire Castile and León region,” emphasizes Ricardo Carreras, member of the Carreras Group board of directors.
Part of Regional Hub Development
The new facility is also part of the municipality’s new master plan, which provides for the development of an intermodal logistics hub centered on the agri-food sector (Hub Logístico y Agroalimentario de Valladolid, or Hub LAV).
Expanding European Network
The new Carreras site joins the approximately forty facilities the group currently operates in the Iberian Peninsula. The company has around fifty sites across Europe in total.
