According to the annual assessment by the Rail Freight Alliance, a total of 10 new combined transport services—with loading units transferred onto rail wagons—were launched in France in 2025 (including extensions and frequency increases of existing services).

These 10 new lines join the 32 lines already in operation in 2024. The most recent include the Lille-Lyon line operated by VIIA (Novatrans Group), and the Lille-Valenton link operated by T3M for Greenmodal (STEF-TFE Group). Overall, combined transport shipments grew by 8% in 2025, with notable increases in agri-food (+25%) and construction materials (+15%). Estimated modal share of rail in trucking: 5%.
