Logistics site robotization is progressing well at Auchan Retail. A candidate for the 2026 Supply Chain Kings with a “technology hub” project for co-botizing temperature-controlled product order preparation, the major retailer has just announced deployment of an autonomous robot-based sorting solution at its Villabé warehouse in Essonne.
Designed with partner Geodis and deployed by integrator Sequence Robotics, this solution will be operational in March in a 38,000 sqm building with 30 Libiao AMRs from China. It will be dedicated to reverse logistics processing of cultural products from Auchan hypermarkets. “This will enable us to process several million consumer units in reverse while optimizing logistics processing costs, guaranteeing high preparation accuracy, and improving traceability and workstation ergonomics,” summarizes Hugo Meyer, Innovation Supply Chain manager at Auchan Retail.
