Hyundai Motor Group’s “MobED” (Mobile Eccentric Droid) platform has received the “Best of Innovation” award at CES 2026 in the robotics category for its capabilities in “delivering the next level of future logistics technology.”

Presented as a modular platform customizable for different use cases—indoor, outdoor, commercial, or industrial—MobED and its eccentric wheel modules enable movement in any direction while adapting to uneven terrain.

Designed to address limitations of traditional AMRs, MobED is intended for applications from last-mile delivery to e-commerce warehouses to shopping and mobility assistance.

The award comes as logistics robotics adoption accelerates. Amazon recently acquired German startup Rightbot Technologies to bolster its warehouse automation capabilities, while established players like Exotec continue deploying at major facilities.

For companies evaluating automation investments, understanding when a WMS upgrade is needed is often the first step—modern systems provide the foundation for robotics integration.
