French designer and manufacturer of contactless identification solutions Paragon ID will order several hundred thousand photovoltaic modules from Dracula Technologies in the coming years to integrate into its new XgenTag-L tag. Unveiled last June at Viva Technology, this Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) tag can continuously transmit data and provide geolocation without batteries, maintenance, or dedicated infrastructure, thanks to its photovoltaic cells that recharge with just 5 lux of light (near darkness).

With a lifespan exceeding 10 years, the tag can be read by any smartphone or standard BLE reader. “By strengthening our collaboration with Dracula Technologies, we are making this breakthrough technology accessible worldwide for sectors such as logistics, transportation, aviation, healthcare, and retail, with a cost structure compatible with industrial volumes,” says Eric Cariou, Vice President of New Product Development at Paragon ID. The objective is to reduce production costs, enable industrial-scale deployment, and support increasingly precise traceability in demanding supply chains.
