Dutch solar developer Sunrock and real estate group BGRE have signed a three-year framework agreement to assess the solar and energy potential of BGRE’s European logistics property portfolio, the two companies announced on 6 October 2026. The agreement covers more than 30 sites across Germany, France and the Netherlands, representing an estimated photovoltaic capacity of around 135 MWp.
The deal is a feasibility framework rather than a firm construction commitment. Under its terms, Sunrock will study the technical and economic viability of rooftop solar and other integrated energy solutions site by site, according to the companies. The partners also plan to explore energy hubs combining several renewable sources and ways to raise on-site consumption of the electricity generated. The framework is designed to move suitable opportunities toward concrete, project-specific development agreements over its three-year span.
Portfolio-scale approach to logistics decarbonization
Sunrock, which specialises in energy solutions for logistics and industrial buildings, said the agreement lets it address the energy transition at portfolio scale by pairing international reach with local expertise, in comments attributed to chief executive Bram Poeth. BGRE’s director of development and logistics for Europe, Alexandre Ohanian, said the aim is to support the long-term sustainability and future-readiness of the group’s assets. The companies’ statements were originally issued in French and are reported here in indirect form.
The announcement came days after Sunrock raised €110 million in fresh funding, according to pv magazine. The 135 MWp figure refers to potential capacity to be studied, not installed generation.
