Present in the country since 1996, Rhenus Group has acquired a rail terminal in Bayserke, near Almaty, in southern Kazakhstan. Specializing in container management and transport with transshipment solutions and bonded warehousing capabilities, it is integrated into the multimodal Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) corridor.

QAZContargo Almaty

The terminal, named QAZContargo Almaty, is operated by the Contargo group, a long-standing Rhenus partner. The facility offers direct access to national and international rail lines, facilitating the expansion of trade between Europe, China, and Central Asian countries.

Strategic Gateway to Central Asia

“Kazakhstan is establishing itself as a logistics hub between Europe and China, while facilitating access to fast-growing markets such as Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan,” the Rhenus Group states. “For French companies, particularly in the industrial, automotive, aerospace, energy, and agri-food sectors, this platform is an asset for optimizing flows and gaining fluidity.”

Regional Presence

In addition to offering transport and logistics services in Kazakhstan with facilities in Almaty, Astana, and Karaganda, Rhenus operates another rail terminal in the region, in Andijan, Uzbekistan.
